SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthem Blue Cross and Sutter Health have reached a new multi-year agreement for Sutter Health to continue as part of the Anthem network.
"We are pleased that our hospitals and doctors will continue providing high-quality services as part of the Anthem network, and that our patients will have access to their Sutter caregivers," said Sutter Health Chief Operating Officer Sarah Krevans. "We regret any inconvenience our patients may have experienced during these past few weeks as the parties worked to negotiate a new agreement."
Some Anthem Blue Cross members received a letter from the health plan notifying them that they were assigned to a new primary care doctor and/or medical group effective Jan. 1, 2014. With the new agreement, Anthem Blue Cross members can keep their Sutter Health doctors without any further action.
If Anthem members enrolled with a new medical group after receiving the letter and wish to re-enroll with a Sutter-affiliated doctor, they should contact Anthem Blue Cross directly by calling the toll-free number on your current ID card or by calling Anthem's customer service at 1-800-999-3643.
