Sweety High Talents Take Off: MTV Picks Dylan O'Brien for Teen Wolf; Scarlett Turner Lands Cody Simpson Music Video
LOS ANGELES, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Girls arts and entertainment website, SweetyHigh.com, is becoming a significant launching pad for young talent.
Last week, Dylan O'Brien, who plays fan favorite Clever Trevor in Sweety High's flagship original webseries "Sweety," received the news that MTV has picked up his pilot for Teen Wolf, a television series remake of the 80's cult classic movie. O'Brien co-stars as Stiles, the best friend of Teen Wolf (played by Tyler Posey).
Sweety High founder and webseries creator, Veronica Zelle, discovered O'Brien on Youtube. Zelle, a successful commercial and music video producer says: "Dylan had never formally acted in anything, so I really worked with him. I saw all this raw talent in his self-made videos and wanted to help take him to the next level."
Another recent breakout from Sweety High's stable is Scarlett Turner, from the site's Glam Squad webseries, who landed the lead in Australian pop sensation Cody Simpson's debut video for iYiYi. Zelle first tried Turner out in the site's forward thinking series of Safety PSA's, but soon offered her the host position on their fashion show.
Veronica remembers: "Right before our first table read for the show Sweety, Dylan said: 'Veronica, I'm scared. These are real actors.' and I said, 'You're a real actor now.'" O'Brien concurs about SH and Teen Wolf, "I'm so excited that Veronica and Sweety High gave me a shot, and I couldn't be more thrilled that it has allowed me this opportunity."
Sweety High (www.sweetyhigh.com) is the most advanced, Coppa compliant social media website offered to the tween demographic. Part innovative network, part original content destination, the whole site works as a social game - allowing users to earn, gift and spend virtual currency to advance their environment.
