Tactus Technology Hires Vice-President of Sales & Marketing
FREMONT, Calif., May 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tactus Technology, Inc., the leader in next-generation tactile touchscreens, today announced that RK Parthasarathy has been hired as the company's first Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In a world of flat, static devices, Tactus™ brings new life to touchscreens by enabling real, physical buttons that rise up from a screen's surface on demand. These buttons then disappear back into the screen, leaving a flat, transparent surface when gone.
Mr. Parthasarathy brings a deep background in user interface and system solutions to Tactus, as the company readies its technology for commercialization. He is also expected to repeat his drive to revenue and profitability through winning partnerships with tier one mobile and computing customers.
Mr. Parthasarathy brings long-standing industry experience in marketing and sales to Tactus. He was previously a member of key management at Qualcomm® as Senior Director of Product Management, where he set the strategy for a range of multi-core solutions designed for residential and enterprise networking. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Marketing at Ubicom™, a leading developer of networking solutions that was acquired by Qualcomm in 2012.
He spent 4 years as Product Line Director & Director of Strategic Marketing for Synaptics®, the world leader in human interface solutions for PCs, mobile devices and consumer electronics products. At Synaptics, he built a business from concept to profitability that delivered world-class semiconductor-based touch solutions into mobile and enabled new classes of CE devices to adopt touch.
Also leveraging his years of marketing and engineering experience at Cypress Semiconductor®, Raza Foundries™,Compaq® and Digital Equipment Corporation®, Mr. Parthasarathy brings a focused and disciplined marketing and sales program to Tactus as the company ramps up production of its Tactile Layer solution for customer shipment in 2014.
"Tactus has developed a true revolution in user interfaces – what we define as "Touch 2.0," said Craig Ciesla, CEO of Tactus. "RK has the vision and experience to help our current and future customers deliver this Touch 2.0 experience across the breadth of diverse product lines. His hire as our first VP of Sales and Marketing is just one more example of the momentum that we have achieved since first showing our technology in June of 2012. Winning "Best of Show" at CES 2013 from Engadget, Wired and CNN demonstrate a bright future for Tactus, and RK will be a key part of our success moving forward."
