CHANTILLY, Va., Feb. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TASC President and CEO John P. Hynes Jr. has been selected by Federal Computer Week (FCW) as one of its 2015 Federal 100 award recipients. Now in its 26th year, this annual award recognizes that elite group of government, industry and academic leaders who go above and beyond their job responsibilities to impact the way the federal government acquires, develops and manages information technology.
Hynes leads TASC's 4,000 employees worldwide in solving complex national security and public safety challenges with advanced systems engineering, integration and decision-support services for the intelligence community, Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies. Named president and CEO in November 2013, Hynes has positioned TASC for numerous contract wins across multiple defense and intelligence agencies involving mission-oriented technologies. He reshaped the organization from many separate units into three sectors organized by customer capabilities, thus improving customer support, fostering innovation and reducing cost. Under Hynes' leadership, TASC has remained a valued asset to the intelligence and national security communities.
In 2013, Hynes was appointed to the advisory board of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) and was named to INSA's board of directors in 2014. He is a member of the board of the Capital Area Food Bank, which helps to feed the hungry in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Through his professional and philanthropic contributions, Hynes is a strong, positive influence in the federal sector and the Washington, D.C., community.
"It is an honor and a privilege to be included among such a talented group of professionals," said Hynes. "Although this award names me individually, TASC employees ensure the outstanding reputation of the company. Their daily efforts make TASC the mission-critical systems engineering provider that federal customers have trusted for nearly 50 years."
Each year, FCW assembles an independent panel of judges to curate the Federal 100 list, which has grown into the signature awards program within the federal IT community. Hynes joins an elite group of professionals who share a sense of duty, commitment to excellence and devotion to public service.
FCW will recognize Hynes and his fellow Federal 100 recipients in the March 30 issue of FCW magazine and on FCW.com. A black-tie gala to honor all recipients will take place on Thursday, March 26, at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.
