CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --The National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) has awarded TASC its Champion of Veteran Enterprise Award for exceeding 2010 federally mandated subcontracting goals established for veteran-owned small businesses and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.

"At TASC, we have a long legacy of successful teaming with small businesses in a way that helps our government customers achieve their goal of fueling small-business growth," says Craig Ridley, corporate small business liaison officer at TASC. "Equally important, our small business teammates can use the expertise we share to grow their companies."
"Of all the federal prime contractors in the running, TASC is one of only six that met or exceeded the service disabled-veteran and veteran-owned goals," says Scott Denniston, executive director of the NVSBC. "One of our purposes as an organization is helping the next generation of veterans start and run small businesses. We do that by partnering with companies such as TASC – companies that understand that it takes effort and time to nurture small businesses."
Since 2010, TASC has provided subcontracting opportunities to more than 300 small businesses and mentored seven small businesses.
