Scaling Agile in the Enterprise

For many organizations, the reality of Agile software delivery is 'water-scrum-fall,' with a modern Agile software development team-based approach operating in the context of traditional, sequential planning and deployment activities. Teams get much better at building software, but waste creeps in before and after development.  Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is often touted as the management glue necessary for 'industrial' software delivery. ALM's more defined and complex processes are at odds with Agile's dynamic, team-based approach. A disconnect ultimately results from these differences, which hinders the flow of knowledge through the product lifecycle. In this session, West will explain the importance of a next generation ALM approach defined by the combination of ALM and Lean. Attendees of this session will learn why the traditional approach to ALM is no longer relevant and how Lean ALM will help to eliminate the deep disconnect between ALM and Agile.
