TBWA\Chiat\Day Taps Nancy Reyes to Lead New York Office as Managing Director
NEW YORK, April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- TBWA\Chiat\Day New York CEO Rob Schwartz announced today that the agency has hired Nancy Reyes as Managing Director. The appointment comes on the heels of rapid expansion for the New York office, which won eight pitches in the last year including Go Daddy, Canadian retailer Sport Chek, and various projects from Merck.
Nancy, who was most recently Vice President of Marketing Creative for Verizon, is an industry veteran with nearly 20 years combined agency and client-side experience. She joins TBWA's New York headquarters to be the day-to-day operational lead for the agency, as well as the principal liaison across all roster clients, which include GoDaddy, Travelers Insurance, H&M, Thomson Reuters and McDonald's, among others. Nancy will have a seat on the agency executive team and will report directly to Schwartz.
"Nancy is a rare combination of leadership, creative taste and great business acumen," said Schwartz. "She has worked across categories on blue-chip brands earning Effies and Cannes Lions along the way. And she can easily put herself in any client's shoes because she's worked client side, too. I'm thrilled that she is joining us to help guide the agency forward."
As VP of Marketing Creative for Verizon, Nancy was responsible for 360-degree creative product for the wireless business, which included advertising, retail and social marketing under the "Better Matters" brand platform.
Prior to joining Verizon, Nancy was Managing Director of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners' New York office. Under her leadership, the agency produced one of the year's best and most awarded campaigns for client Comcast, and also earned a spot on Creativity's "Standouts" list.
The bulk of her advertising career was spent in GS&P's San Francisco office, where she worked for eleven years on a variety of accounts, including Adobe, HP, Frito-Lay, Google and Comcast. She led the team that produced HP's award-winning "The Computer Is Personal Again" campaign, which won Gold at the Effies and was named Ad Age's Campaign of the Year in 2006.
A graduate of Harvard University, Nancy began her career in New York City at Ogilvy & Mather and D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles working on IBM, and Procter & Gamble brands including Folgers, Pampers and Crest.
TBWA has been at the forefront of empowering female leaders within the company, publicly pledging to increase women in leadership roles across the board by 20% over the next several years. In addition to Nancy joining as Managing Director, TBWA\Chiat\Day New York has recently hired Global Creative Director Trish Schmitt and promoted Lauren Niemcewicz to Managing Director of TBWA's performance marketing arm, called Engage.
Nancy, who begins her new role on May 9, commented: "I couldn't be more excited to join this talented team at TBWA New York and I look forward to creating awesome work together."
