Team PlayJect Spearheads the Gamification of Project Management Training for Corporations across the Globe.
HOUSTON, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the biggest challenges many firms face is being able to engage their employees in productive trainings. This is a great challenge for larger organizations where scale, distributed work force and consistency are a reality. Adult education is another challenge as adults prefer learning by experience, rather than through lectures. Project Management is the most focused adult training for project based organizations, where efficiency in project delivery will translate to immediate results. The odds are however, completely stacked against the organizations in applying the project management learning to actual projects, as project management inherently involves experiential learning. PlayJect (A unit of Nucleus Group) in collaboration with Principle InfoTech has now come up with an answer to this challenge.
The delivery excellence team at Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) is innovating and keeping itself ahead of the pack with their project management training programs, by teaming up with the PlayJect team. On the eve of "International Project Management Day", as a part of delivery excellence initiative, they have provided an online virtual project management strategy implementation game to more than 100,000 associates. Within few hours, more than 5000 associates were engaged meaningfully across locations in an interactive manner. More than 95% of the users, who completed the program, have positively rated the engagement. The engagement had drawn in members from all ranks with varying age groups, functionalities, and domains.
Conceived in 2011, PlayJect provides an online project management experiential platform for various project meaning learnings like project strategy, project decision making etc. based on the PMBOK5 standards of Project Management Institute (PMI), USA. The founding member, Dr. Srinivas Telukunta, a PhD from Cornell University and MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB) has said that while the platform has been available for few years and there was great feedback from the participants of the platform from multiple users, the biggest challenge was in scaling up the platform to provide access to large number of concurrent users. Nickell Cheruku, Head of PlayJect (USA) Said that the platform is highly effective and proven for development/improvement of project management skills of individual's at all ranks in an organization, our efforts will be accelerated to get PlayJect closer to organizations in USA. PlayJect, USA has offices in Houston, TX, Washington D.C.
With innovative design, the platform uses a combination of network server and local computing to provide robust user experience even at a large scale, which is a critical challenge to overcome to work at an enterprise level like Cognizant where the numbers may potentially cross 100,000.
Although firms still face an uphill battle in engaging its workforce especially in the project management training field, enterprises should realize that today there are better tools than in the past. Thus, firms can play a vital role in facilitating the project management skills of their employees and for them to achieve mastery in project management delivery. The proper implementation of game mechanics within a gamified system can complement the existing enterprise learning systems, as the initiative of PlayJect team with Cognizant has demonstrated.
