TeamHealth Acquires The Exigence Group

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth Holdings Inc. (NYSE: TMH) today announced the acquisition of the operations of The Exigence Group ("Exigence") and its related entities. Based in Amherst, New York, Exigence currently provides care to approximately 500,000 patients each year through the management and staffing of 12 emergency departments, 3 hospital medicine programs, and 8 freestanding, patient-centered urgent care centers operating under the name Immediate Care Centers. The group's current operations are located in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

The current Exigence leadership team will continue to serve its existing clients out of the Amherst-based office while seeking opportunities for growth in hospital-based staffing services throughout western New York and adjacent states. In addition to growing its hospital-based services, the existing Exigence management group will also provide leadership and oversight of TeamHealth's development of Immediate Care Center services, supporting both existing and new hospital clients in other markets around the country.
