LONDON, November 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
PRWeek teamed up with ICM, an independent market research company, and FeaturesExec Media Database, who provided the journalist contacts, to send a survey to 1,400 technology journalists asking for their views on how they would rate the top 30 tech PR agencies in the four key attributes of quality of briefings, friendliness, accessibility and quality of stories. From these scores, league tables of the top ten in each discipline were created, along with an overall top ten to show which agencies tech journalists felt served them best.
B2B PR agency, ITPR, was ranked first out of all the top UK technology PR agencies in quality of briefings, friendliness and accessibility and fourth in quality of stories pitched. These scores also put ITPR at the top of the overall rankings. The PRWeek report, available for download via the link below, cited ITPR as "the most popular PR agency among tech journalists. The agency's staff are regarded as being friendly, easy to get hold of, and good at explaining their clients' stories."

Bob Dearsley, Chief Exec of ITPR, comments, "Being top of the rankings is testament to the fact that our team has it instilled in them from the very outset that the journalist is our customer and outstanding customer service is what we do. We have spent the last 20 years creating a culture and a team of people who enjoy dealing with journalists and who care enough to celebrate excellent pieces of coverage. Our company training makes it very plain that 'Thou shalt never commit the sin of uttering the words - "Did you get my press release?"', yet it is expected of every team member to be able, if necessary, to argue convincingly why a press release is relevant and newsworthy for a given targeted publication."
Kieran Kent, Client Services Director at ITPR, comments, "At ITPR we ask all staff to treat journalists as customers - and to remember that no two customers are the same. We always make sure we have done our homework on journalists, asking ourselves questions such as, what is the readership of the publication they work for? What have they written about recently? And what's the best way to contact them - is it email, Twitter, or perhaps the good old-fashioned telephone! Journalists will always value PRs who have done their research and can make a compelling case as to why their client's story is relevant to the publication - what they don't appreciate is a PR that takes a scatter-gun approach to media outreach with little consideration about the journalist on the receiving end."
