NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Twenty years ago, Teuwen Communications was born from a love of good food, wine and company. Since its inception, the agency has held the concept of products with a soul at its core. That very idea has drawn together a passionate and knowledgable team, dedicated to producing creative, result-driven campaigns for a range of exciting clients, both solid and liquid.
In 1995, Stephanie Teuwen was working at a large public relations firm in New York when renowned chef and fellow French ex-pat Claude Troisgros showed up at her door. He convinced Stephanie to take a leap of faith and create her own agency, with him as the very first client. Along with photographer and her 24/7 partner Geert Teuwen, Stephanie set up shop in Chelsea. The transition was very natural: growing up in a restaurant in Provence, food and wine was part of Stephanie's DNA.
Teuwen Communications continued to grow and evolve, representing top and rising chefs, fine dining and fast-casual restaurants, cheeses and chocolates, olive oils and artisanal meats. Large-scale events also became a forte, with the agency producing the Chocolate Show and growing its attendance to over 30,000 by its eighth year. The agency also spread its roots into the wine industry, where it established the Loire Valley Wine Bureau and soon expanded to other French regions and brands. Teuwen now represents the full spectrum of wine — from red, white and rose to sweet and sparkling — from Portugal to Hungary and the United States to Argentina.
Along the way, Stephanie assembled a team that shares her vision and enthusiasm. Driven, strategic and well-informed, the team lives and breathes this industry and works to establish strong relationships based on mutual respect. The Teuwen Communications team has never been more excited for the future, as it holds tremendous growth and opportunity.
In its 20th year, the agency is proud to work with: Bordeaux Wines, Catena Institute of Wine, Champagne Laurent-Perrier, Cotes de Bordeaux, Disznoko, Elena Walch, Falesco, Le Pain Quotidien, The Original Chevre, Rhone Valley Wines, Saint-Emilion-Pomerol-Fronsac, St Supery, Quinta do Noval, Wine Disciples and Wines of Alsace.
Here's what the industry's movers and shakers are saying about Teuwen Communications:
- "It's a rare agency that truly understands the (admittedly sometimes esoteric) needs of journalists. The team at Teuwen get it. They're foodies and wine geeks at heart so they know what makes a great food or wine story." - Chantal Martineau, freelance wine writer
- "Stephanie and her team at Teuwen Communications are not only well-tuned-in and connected in the wine world, they have genuine passion for wine and food. They are professionals, but also truly enjoy their job and their clients, which makes it fun to work and travel with them." - Juliette Pope, Wine Director at Gramercy Tavern
- "Teuwen has always performed their tasks for Les Halles (and for me personally) with relentless, military precision, burying me with more press than any chef/writer has any reason to expect. Efficient, likable, well connected, shrewd and knowledgeable in all things to do with food, chefs and restaurants — they're the "A Team" of public relations in the foodie universe." - Anthony Bourdain, Best-Selling Author and Host of Parts Unknown
