Texas Instruments upgrades its commitment to EnOcean Alliance for energy-efficient buildings

DALLAS, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced that is has become a promoter of the EnOcean Alliance, of which it has been a member since 2008. By upgrading to promoter status, TI is reinforcing its commitment to EnOcean's energy harvesting wireless technology and will provide its expertise in energy-efficient integrated circuits (ICs). The EnOcean Alliance, founded in 2008, is driven to establish EnOcean as an international standard for sustainable buildings. The alliance counts more than 160 members worldwide, including leading companies from the building technology and electronics sectors.

TI has successfully collaborated with EnOcean since 2005 and TI ICs are used in a number of EnOcean modules. In June 2010 the two companies announced their intention to expand collaboration in the area of energy harvesting.
