The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN) Celebrates National Nurses Week
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., May 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN), along with the American Nurses Association (ANA), celebrates National Nurses Week May 6 – 12, 2011 and National Nurses Day on May 6, 2011.
Every year, National Nurses Week focuses attention on the diverse ways America's 3.1 million registered nurses work to save lives and to improve the health of millions of individuals. The theme for 2011 is "Nurses Trusted to Care." AAHFN believes that the road to wellness starts with compassionate, dedicated nurses.
"Nurses perform such important work relating to patient care every day," said Vera Barton-Caro, AAHFN President. "This week is a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon, and show appreciation for, their caring response to those in need. AAHFN members are representative of the vital impact that nurses can make on an individual basis to help patients with heart failure live stronger and healthier lives."
Currently, AAHFN has launched its own heart failure nurse certification program to further advance the field of heart failure nursing. In honor of National Nurses Week, AAHFN would like to recognize not only the work of heart failure nurses, but also all nurses for their dedication to their practice to promote optimal patient outcomes. During this year's National Nurses Week, AAHFN asks its members to wear their AAHFN membership pin proudly.
