The American Red Cross And Abrams Artists Agency Partner For National Preparedness Month
30 Digital Influencers and Stars Set To Raise Awareness This September With Personal Messages Of Preparedness Featuring Their Loved Ones and #LovedOnesSafe
NASHVILLE, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Red Cross is teaming up with Abrams Artists Agency's digital influencers to raise awareness for September's National Preparedness Month, serving as a reminder to take action to prepare for the types of emergencies that could affect where we live, work, and visit.
The month-long, nationwide initiative encourages all Americans to develop fire safety and emergency plans. The most common disaster threat to Americans is home fires. On average seven people die everyday from a home fire. As part of National Preparedness Month, the Red Cross is asking every household to create a home fire escape plan and practice it until everyone can escape in less than two minutes.
Beginning September 12th, social media stars and digital influencers including Brodie Smith, Teni Panosian, Chantel Jeffries, Dylan Dauzat, The GlamTwinz, and Shanna Malcolm, among others, will use their voices across multiple media platforms to encourage America to take specific precautions to be more prepared for emergencies. The personalized messages will each feature the hashtag #LovedOnesSafe, as well as each talent's best reason for being prepared—their loved ones.
The mix of celebrity guests and social media influencers involved in the campaign—whose total collective reach is nearly 50 million -- will help the Red Cross increase awareness about the importance of being prepared for emergencies, as well as the mission to support families who have been affected by disasters and prevent disasters such as home fires. Every year, the Red Cross responds to nearly 66,000 tragedies nationwide where a family has lost everything; the roof over their heads, their clothes, and their most cherished possessions.
Generous donations from Nationwide and Kidde are supporting the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign to reduce home fire deaths and injuries by 25 percent. In honor of Fire Safety Week this October, Nationwide and Kidde are helping increase home fire safety and awareness in communities across the country by supporting Red Cross outreach, including smoke alarm installations and battery replacements and, fire safety education.
