The Association for Mature American Citizens Endorses Convention of States Project
Americans see a Convention of States as the best way to take away power from Washington
PURCELLVILLE, Va., Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today the Convention of States Project announces the endorsement of AMAC, the Association for Mature American Citizens. Both organizations share a common commitment to renewing conservative philosophies and the Constitution to strengthen the nation. The endorsement is a natural extension of both organizations leading the charge to restore the nation's heritage, culture and values; together becoming a powerful voice for millions of American's who want to rein in the power the federal government has amassed in recent years.
"Our nation is involved in an internal struggle with leaders who fundamentally wish to eliminate the Constitutional bedrock America was founded upon," said Andrew Mangione, Vice President of Government Relations for AMAC. "We rely on input from our millions of members on the issues that they care about—such as fighting runaway taxes, a heavy-handed government and the eroding relevance and importance of States rights. This is exactly why we've joined the Convention of States Project to mutually work toward using the Constitution to put the federal government back in its place—working for the people."
"The American people are fed up with not being listened to and ignored," states Mark Meckler, Co-founder of the Convention of States Project. "We have received many letters from voters, just as AMAC has, demanding action—wanting to look at every opportunity we have, as citizens, to make government work for them not against them. Both of our organizations know that Article V is the 'emergency button' the Framer's gave us for exactly a time such as this. AMAC is a principled, rapidly growing, mission-based membership organization, serving as an organizing counter-force against entrenched interests working to consolidate power in an ever-growing central government. Together we will be a powerful force in reminding DC who they answer to."
The Convention of States Project currently has organized leadership in 43 states around the country, including thousands of volunteers committed to stopping the federal government's abuse of power. Three Article V applications have already been passed in Alaska, Florida and Georgia. For more information visit www.ConventionofStates.com.
