The Bozzuto Group Breaks Ground on Union Wharf, Mixed-Use Development in Baltimore's Historic Fells Point Neighborhood
Groundbreaking Ceremony to Feature Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake
GREENBELT, Md., Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bozzuto Group will break ground today on Union Wharf, a $72 million mixed-use waterfront community that will bring 281 upscale apartment homes, 4,500 square feet of vibrant retail, and nearly 500 parking spaces to Baltimore's historic Fells Point neighborhood.
A 10:00 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony will be held today at the intersection of Thames and S. Wolfe Streets. Speakers include Tom Bozzuto , chairman and CEO of The Bozzuto Group; Toby Bozzuto , president, Bozzuto Development Company; Councilmember Jim Kraft and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake .

Located on the eastern edge of the Fells Point peninsula on an undeveloped site overlooking the Inner Harbor, Union Wharf has been accepted into Maryland's Voluntary Cleanup Program and is being built to achieve LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The project is being financed in part through a partnership between Bozzuto, CIGNA and Pritzker Realty Group, a Chicago-based real estate investment company, and a construction loan from PNC Real Estate.
Resident amenities in the seven-story community include a resort-style lobby; 150-foot zero edge pool; clubroom with lounge, bar room, billiards room, and theatre; fitness center with yoga room; cyber cafe and conference room; and pocket parks providing ample outdoor green space.
Union Wharf is being developed by Bozzuto Development Company, built by Bozzuto Construction Company and will be managed by Bozzuto Management Company. Bozzuto has commenced construction and is expected to complete work in Fall 2013.
