WUZHEN, China, Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 3rd Wuzhen Theatre Festival will be held from October 15 to 24, 2015 and the organising committee has now released a complete guide to help visitors make the most of the nine-day event.
The Wuzhen Theatre Festival offers 73 incredible performances from 12 countries and districts this year. Nibelungen! The Ring Cycle, performed by the Thalia Theatre, Hamburg, will be one of the festival's highlights, a mixture of 19th century scripts written by well-known German playwright Hebbel and the more contemporary performance of ancient myths and legends from Wagner - a rare opportunity for audiences to immerse themselves in a seven-and-half-hour play which will be performed only on October 20 and 21.
Tony Award-winning director Peter Brook, who will assume the role of Honorary President of the 3rd Wuzhen Theatre Festival, will also bring his latest production, The Valley of Astonishment, on October 23 and 24.
Furthermore, visitors will be able to take advantage of the Grand Slam Plan, which comprises sample tours that allow people the opportunity to enjoy as many performances as possible. These are the Renowned Groups Plan, the Avant-garde Plan, which contains new plays, the Comedy Plan, which includes all comedies, and the Weekend Plan, specifically designed for those who can only visit Wuzhen on weekends.
Those planning a trip can visit the Wuzhen Theatre Festival website to also explore food, accommodation and transportation points online, designing their own unique theatre tour. As Managing Director of the festival Chen Yu says, "Information is transferred quickly nowadays. As a forerunner of this trend, we have to do our best to deliver all information requested as soon as possible in order to offer a better travel experience."
Wuzhen has released all the performance information on its official website so that festival-goers from all over the world can see what to expect. To get the schedule for the 3rd Wuzhen Theatre Festival, please visit: http://www.wuzhenfestival.com/en/Schedule.aspx
