Annual Fundraiser Supports Efforts in Finding a Cure for Type 1 Diabetes

GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fresh Market will hold its 17th annual "Hope Floats" Sidewalk Sale on September 9 through September 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Each of The Fresh Market's 107 stores, located in 21 states across the Southeast, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, will offer root beer floats, hot dogs and ice cream sundaes each for a $2 donation and gourmet cookies each for a $1 donation. Sugar-free root beer floats and sundaes are also available. The Fresh Market will donate 100 percent of the money raised over the three-day sale of these items directly to JDRF to support its mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. Could there be a more delicious way to give?

In addition to the Sidewalk Sale, The Fresh Market is currently having its "Ask Me About My Sneakers" campaign through September 11. Customers can make a donation by purchasing green paper sneakers at The Fresh Market's checkout counters to show support for this worthy cause. JDRF Collection Containers are also placed at each checkout counter, as every penny counts.

The annual Sidewalk Sale and Sneaker Sale are just two of the many ways The Fresh Market continues to support JDRF. The Fresh Market was the first Presenting Sponsor for the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes held in the corporate headquarters city of Greensboro, N.C.
