The Hanover Insurance Group Hits A Home Run With Free Youth Baseball Clinic Series
WORCESTER, Mass., May 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. (NYSE: THG) today announced it has entered into a national partnership with The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) as well as local, independent agents across the country for the fifth consecutive year to sponsor the "Legends for Youth" baseball clinic series. These free clinics will host approximately 1,500 boys and girls ages 6-16 in various cities around the country and feature former Major League Baseball players as instructors, including all-stars and Hall of Fame players.
"As we enter into our 31st year as an organization, we have hosted thousands of baseball clinics nationwide to help promote the game of baseball, and inspire youth through positive sport images and former players," said Brooks Robinson, president of the MLBPAA. "With The Hanover's help, we will make this wonderful experience possible for hundreds of children each year."
The clinics will promote the game of baseball and teach basic baseball skills, while helping youth build confidence, self-respect, and their sense of responsibility for themselves and their teams – these are important skills and abilities that will benefit them at home and at school.
"We are excited to partner with the MLBPAA again this year to host its Legends of Youth baseball clinics," said James P. Griesing, vice president, corporate and commercial marketing at The Hanover. "At The Hanover, we are always looking for opportunities to partner with our agents to promote education and youth in the communities where we live and work. The clinics help to empower participants to be the best they can be, whether it's on the baseball field, in the classroom, or at home. We are proud to be a part of that effort."
This year's MLBPAA Legends for Youth Clinics sponsored by The Hanover Insurance Group will take place in Chicago, Illinois; Denver, Colorado; Detroit, Michigan; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Terre Haute, Indiana.
