The Harwood Institute to Co-Host National Lab With United Way Worldwide
Event at Mary M. Gates Learning Center will gather leaders shaping changes in education, income, health
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Harwood Institute and United Way Worldwide present the Harwood Public Innovators Lab, providing nonprofit leaders and organizations with resources and training to address the needs of communities in America. Starting Monday, December 5, more than 100 national and local leaders will gather at the Mary M. Gates Learning Center at United Way Worldwide for the three-day lab.
"Taking the time to actually focus on strategies to fully engage communities was a gift to me and my work. The Harwood Public Innovators Lab is a learning experience aimed at empowering leaders in methods that make their work more meaningful. Harwood has conducted labs since 2007, using tools and peer learning to shape the way leaders work in their own organizations and communities. This new way of working guides people to create real, lasting and positive community change as well as grow the ranks of their volunteers, advocates and donors.
