The Healthy House Institute (HHI) and HUD Sign 5-Year Agreement to Promote the National Healthy Homes Conference (NHHC)
The Healthy House Institute (HHI) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes have entered into a partnership to advertise and promote the National Healthy Homes Conference (NHHC).
BOISE, Idaho, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Healthy House Institute (HHI) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes have entered into a partnership to advertise and promote the National Healthy Homes Conference (NHHC), with the most recent event held at the Music City Center in Nashville, TN from May 28-30, 2014. The National Healthy Homes Conference (NHHC) is a unique event that brings together health, housing and other professional tradespeople to improve the quality of the homes and lives of America's families and communities.

As part of the agreement, HHI will publish advertising on the HHI Website, and foster network connections between prospective attendees, exhibitors, speakers, NGOs, Federal healthy homes and other leadership to develop and expand the National Healthy Homes Conference (NHHC) community.
In addition, Healthy House Institute's president, Allen P. Rathey, will tap HHI's expert network to build upon common interest and drive momentum for healthy housing.

The 2014 Conference provided education by experts in housing and public health, featuring almost 200 speakers and 130 sessions in six topical tracks. The educational tracks:

- Outlined policy and social initiatives to make homes and communities safer and healthier;
- Showcased the research and evidence for healthy housing and the applied science of healthy homes with examples;
- Detailed ways and success stories in which healthy homes make healthy communities;
- Shared proven design and building practices for safer, healthier homes;
- Continued expanding the mission of making healthy homes accessible to all.
NHHC 2014 also showcased products and innovations in more than 50,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, and provided a unique hands-on volunteer event, the Building a Healthy Neighborhood project hosted by the 501c3 nonprofit Rebuilding Together organization.
