The Honorable Ben Ray Lujan to Kick Off Hispanic National Bar Association's Legislative Day
WASHINGTON, May 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) is honored to host the Honorable Ben Ray Lujan (NM-3) during its Welcome Reception for the 2010 HNBA Legislative Day. HNBA members from across the country will convene in Washington, D.C. to address issues with Members of Congress in both the House and Senate that include an HNBA model for an earned and secure path to citizenship – a key component of comprehensive immigration reform legislation – and greater diversity in the federal judiciary. The timing of this year's Legislative Day is also important given the recent announcement of President Obama's nominee to the Supreme Court of the United States, a nomination that is of utmost importance to the Latino legal community.
"We are honored to have Representative Lujan join us as we welcome members from across the country to the nation's capital for the important work ahead," said Roman D. Hernandez, HNBA National President. Liz Lopez, HNBA Vice President of External Affairs noted, "HNBA's Legislative Day is an important opportunity for members to meet face to face with their representatives in the House and Senate and to bring to their attention issues of top concern to the Latino community."
