The Iron Yard and Winrock International Partner to Offer $60k in Scholarships for Their Inaugural Little Rock Courses
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Iron Yard and Winrock International have partnered to offer an incredible opportunity for those looking to launch a career in technology. For the 12 week, immersive coding courses starting on June 29th, the organizations are offering $60,000 in scholarships available to incoming students.
Scholarships will be awarded based on short essay responses to the question: "What would you build for Little Rock if you learned how to code?"
Submissions will be reviewed by Winrock International and The Iron Yard and 12 applicants will be selected, receiving the tuition discount scholarship in the following amounts:
- 2 students - Full Scholarship ($12,000)
- 2 students - Half Scholarship ($6,000)
- 8 students - Quarter Scholarship ($3,000)

June 29 courses include Front End Engineering and .NET Engineering. Students will graduate with the skills to get professional, junior-level programming jobs and The Iron Yard has established relationships with several local tech companies who are interested in hiring Iron Yard graduates.
