The Joint Chiropractic Set To Hire More Doctors

Company to meet demand from nearly 34 million U.S. adults who now seek chiropractic care each year, up from 20.6 million

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Joint Corp. announced today that the company and its franchisees are planning to add to their growing number of doctors to meet market demand for chiropractic services. More than 850 doctors are currently employed by clinics owned or managed by The Joint across 27 states.

The company currently has more than 275 open clinics and its expansion efforts parallel the growing demand for chiropractic services. A new Gallup report commissioned by Palmer College of Chiropractic shows that 33.6 million U.S. adults (14 percent of the total population) now seek chiropractic care each year. This number represents a marked increase over the 2012 National Health Interview Survey that measured chiropractic use at 20.6 million U.S. adults, or eight percent.

The "Gallup-Palmer College of Chiropractic Inaugural Report: Americans' Perceptions of Chiropractic" also found that nearly two-thirds of adult Americans (61 percent) believe chiropractors are effective at treating neck and back pain, and over half (57 percent) said they are likely to see a chiropractor for that type of pain. In addition, more than half reported that they have visited a chiropractor, and more than one-fourth said they would choose a chiropractor first for back or neck pain.

"The Gallup report is tremendous news, both for doctors of chiropractic and the patients we serve," said James Edwards, D.C., Chief Chiropractic & Compliance Officer of The Joint Corp. "Based on the findings, it confirms that The Joint's practice model is perfectly positioned to provide affordable chiropractic care to Americans not only for pain relief, but more importantly, for ongoing wellness care."

The Gallup report further revealed that nearly half of all U.S. adults don't know whether their insurance covers chiropractic care. That doesn't matter for patients of The Joint, because its non-insurance model ensures consumers receive quality care without insurance hassles.

Patients can choose from several plans, including a monthly plan that includes up to four visits at a cost sometimes lower than the patient's average insurance co-payment for a single visit. Patients can receive treatment at any of The Joint's nationwide locations near their home, while traveling for work or on vacation. Appointments are not required, and all clinics have extended and weekend hours.
