The Justice Clearinghouse is bringing together the Nation's Justice Community to Address Mental Illness
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Have you ever thought about the impact an individual who suffers from Mental Illness has on our Justice System? From law enforcement's response strategy with that initial call for service to the jails and prisons that are responsible for every aspect of their care until they are released, often the challenges seem insurmountable.
The Justice Clearinghouse is leading the way and addressing the issues and strategies that law enforcement, detention/corrections, courts, and probation/parole need to adopt when working with individuals who suffer from Mental Illness. We are bringing the justice community together to help prevent the next active shooter or mass casualty incident from occurring. We are bringing the justice community together to align operations and processes and make sure that individuals who suffer from a mental illness are taken care of and in a safe environment while in custody.
In collaboration with some of the most authoritative sources, the Justice Clearinghouse is addressing these significant issues by bringing together the justice community on Thursday, October 9th through an on-line event that will feature programs developed by the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission, the Tucson Police Department, and the Pima County Sheriff's Office to address these issues. The public may register for this free event at justiceclearinghouse.com and join us as we begin a monthly exploration of the issues surrounding criminal justice and mental health.
The Clearinghouse is proud to present this series of events in collaboration with these great organizations:
- National Alliance on Mental Illness
