"The Lyndon Experience" on YouTube Reveals the Hilarious Life and Times of Hollywood Booking Coach and Accomplished Performing Artist Amy Lyndon
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Known as the Tony Robbins of Acting, Amy Lyndon has built a career out of inspiring fellow performing artists to navigate a challenging industry with confidence. Now, she's sharing a behind-the-scenes view of life as a busy Celebrity Booking Coach with her own YouTube series, "The Lyndon Experience" — with more than a dozen webisodes at press time — and available at https://www.youtube.com/thelyndonexperience.
Among working actors, Lyndon is well respected for her development of The Lyndon Technique, an approach that dispels the myths of the audition process and provides an effective, straightforward, practical approach to nailing auditions and booking work for the actor. This technique has helped more than 45 current students land Series Regular TV gigs. "The Lyndon Experience" is not only an exploration of the technique, but also a vehicle for Lyndon to share her zest for life.
"I want everyone to succeed and become the best version of themselves as performers," says Lyndon. "My technique is designed to instill the idea of precision — because precision is what separates gold from silver, and everyone wants the gold. The Actor must approach acting like an Olympic Athlete. The more you practice the necessary skills, the more you will book. When a high level of discipline and concentration on the work is achieved, you will see incredible results."
An impressive list of actors owes a big part of their success to The Lyndon Technique. It includes Emmy winner Christel Khalil ("The Young and the Restless"), Imagen Award winner Carlos Pratts ("McFarland, USA"), Adam Brody ("The OC"), Nadine Velazquez ("SIX"), Raini Rodriguez ("Austin and Ally") and Lauren Taylor ("Best Friends Whenever"), among many others. Roberta Bassin had this to say, "There's Shakespeare, Scene Study, Cold Reading and then there's Amy Lyndon's Booking Technique - "The Final Frontier" in actually getting the job. After only four classes, I booked Grey's Anatomy. Two weeks later and two more classes, I booked a feature film directed and produced by Clint Eastwood opposite Leonardo DiCaprio."
Lyndon's rich and varied career both in front of and behind the camera has given her a profound appreciation for the work that goes into being successful. She took her first steps into the industry at age 10 and at 16 was traveling by train to study in Manhattan as a pupil at the Neighborhood Playhouse, a Dramatic Arts Conservatory with a prestigious list of alumni. Later, she attended the renowned London Academy of Performing Arts and then, returned to her native New York to earn her BFA from Syracuse University.
Her early days as a professional performer saw Lyndon working alongside masters like Stella Adler and Harry Mastrogeorge, as well as adding her unique talents to established troupes like The Groundlings. Lyndon quickly demonstrated a flair for comedy and improvisation, and she found receptive audiences as a stand-up comedian at The Comedy Store in Hollywood. Comedic styles have characterized her career — yet comedic acting is only one of her many talents.
To date, Lyndon has over 40 film credits to her name, appearing alongside Tom Arnold in "1 Interrogation" and Stephen Baldwin in "The UnMiracle." She's also had roles in the Lionsgate feature films "B.T.K.," "Dracula's Guest" and "Chicago Massacre: Richard Speck." On the small screen, Lyndon has guest starred in dozens of shows. A few highlights include roles in "NCIS," "Law and Order: Los Angeles," "Ugly Betty," "Entourage," "NYPD Blue" and "JAG." She enjoyed recurring roles on "Days of Our Lives," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless."
Lyndon's work behind the camera has been equally notable and informs her unique insights concerning what casting directors and producers are looking for in on-screen talent. Her independent film "Odessa" fetched several top awards on the festival circuit. The film starred the late Yolanda King, eldest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lyndon also won a Best Family Screenplay Award at the Moondance International Film Festival for "Unleash My Heart."
Later this year, Lyndon will be directing the television show "Fly." In the meantime, anyone with an interest in the life and times of this funny, fascinating and inspiring Celebrity Booking Coach can check out "The Lyndon Experience" on YouTube and subscribe to be alerted to new webisodes.
