The National Law Enforcement And Firefighters Children's Foundation Hosts 2nd Annual Hero Awards Gala

NEW YORK, Sept. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Law Enforcement and Firefighters Children's Foundation (NLEAFCF) will host its second annual Hero Awards Gala on Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City, with cocktails at 6PM followed by dinner and an awards ceremony.

The NLEAFCF will present the Corporate Hero Award to Emanuele A. Conti, CEO Kroll, Inc. and the Public Service Hero Award to William J. Bratton, Police Commissioner, City of New York.  These awards are designed to honor distinguished individuals and corporations whose work and passion support the efforts of our nation's first responders.  Proceeds from the event help to underwrite NLEAFCF's ongoing scholarship and grant programs.

Created in the aftermath of "9/11" by Founder and President Alfred Kahn, the NLEAFCF serves the long-term needs of children and families nationwide affected by a line of duty death or permanent disability. "We established this Foundation with the mission of helping the heroes of tomorrow – the children of the brave firefighters and law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf," said Kahn, who is also the Chairman & CEO of CraneKahn LLC.

"This event raises funds to provide our heroes' children needed financial resources for basic life expenses and college costs. Emanuele "Manny" A. Conti is Chief Executive Officer of Kroll, Inc., a leading global provider in risk mitigation and response, delivering a wide range of solutions that span investigations, due diligence, compliance, and security. Kroll has a long history of working closely with the law enforcement community in regard to cyber security, anti-bribery and corruption, threat analysis and risk management efforts.

William J. Bratton is the City of New York's 42nd Police Commissioner. During his tenure with police departments in Boston, Los Angeles and New York he brought crime to historically low levels, created pioneering policing programs and accountability systems and distinguished himself as an innovator and national and international leader in the law enforcement arena.

Our uniformed heroes, in addition to Corporate Hero, Mr. Conti and Public Service Hero, Commissioner Bratton will be recognized for their service and sacrifice. All proceeds from the Hero Awards Gala will fund the ongoing scholarship and grant programs. Sponsors of the event also underwrite tables for first responders to attend the Gala as honored guests.
