HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa., Feb. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Judge Wade A. Kagarise (R-Hollidaysburg) is proud to announce that the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association (http://www.psta.org) members have unanimously endorsed his candidacy for the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
In a letter dated 1/25/17 President Joseph R. Kovel wrote, "I am privileged to inform you that our members have unanimously endorsed your candidacy for Pennsylvania Superior Court." President Kovel stated that the membership of 8,000 active and retired State Troopers seek to endorse candidates who have the best interest of Pennsylvania and its law enforcement community at heart. Kovel went on to state, "Clearly, your experience as a prosecutor with the Blair County District Attorney and as Judge of the Blair County Court of Common Pleas provides the knowledge and skill to continue serving the citizens of Pennsylvania with judicial prudence and fairness."
Kagarise served as a prosecutor in the Blair County District Attorney's Office for over fifteen years – eight of those years as a Chief Deputy D.A.. Kagarise had extensive trial experience and prosecuted numerous murder cases. Kagarise is now a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Blair County where he handles a variety of criminal, family and civil cases.
The judge recently announced his candidacy for the Pennsylvania Superior Court and has described himself as an 'originalist' who believes a judge should look to the Constitution and the law to determine legislative intent—not legislate from the bench.
Upon learning of the endorsement, Judge Kagarise stated, "I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association. This organization represents current and past individuals who have dedicated their lives to public service and at great risk put themselves on the front line every day. I am sure all law abiding Pennsylvanians believe as I do that they are deserving of our respect and gratitude."
