This highly sensitive and potentially explosive content was compiled by Paul David Pope, the grandson of Generoso Pope Sr., a penniless teen who came to America at the dawn of the 20th century with ambitions that generated enormous wealth and power that ultimately changed the face of New York, and son of Gene Pope, the charismatic and eccentric founder of the National Enquirer.
"It has become my life's mission to compile this extensive documentation of my family's history. It is through this process that I have come to recognize that real life is more outrageous than fiction, and believe the Pope family legacy is a story primed for Hollywood," said Paul Pope.
The Pope Media Center contains more than seven terabytes of original media starting in the early 1900s and extending through to present day. The Pope Media Center documents the meteoric rise of the Pope family empire and contains wild tales of international politicians, corruption, mobsters, affairs and celebrities, the building of New York's greatest landmarks and the genesis of tabloid journalism.
Development of the Pope Media Center took more than two decades, and includes a compilation of historic data including hundreds of interviews with noted journalists, notorious gangsters, industry moguls, celebrities, lawyers, publishers, Hollywood agents and talent managers. It is brimming with sensational tales of scandals, lavish parties, glitterati red carpet events, corruption, manipulation and power brokering among the social elite. It contains thousands of photos, secret FBI and CIA files, archival material from presidential libraries, and hours of video. The content of the Pope Media Center is both compelling and detailed, making it hypnotic to novelists, investigative journalists or historians seeking to uncover the truth about events that changed the course of history.
The Pope Media Center is also very proud of its current focus project: Confessions: A Tale of a Rich Kid From Hell. Confessions is a story that is salacious, sinister, historically riveting and sexy to a modern-day audience, in a way that rivals the decadent frolics of the characters on HBO's Entourage, James Bond films, and the real-life transgressions like those of Charlie Sheen. Like Paul Pope's first book, The Deeds of My Fathers, Confessions is based on actual events that are verifiable and extensively documented by original materials. Confessions is rich in historical back story, but the tale is thrillingly timeless. It weaves together a story of sex, wild times and intrigue that leads readers to the edge and then turns with triumphant redemption.
