The Portland Hospital has announced that it will host a Pregnancy Open Day on Sunday 22nd November 2015. Registered visitors will be able to see this highly respected maternity unit in action, and there will be opportunities to ask consultants, midwives and breastfeeding specialists questions on a range of issues related to maternity care and pregnancy.
Visitors will be given a guided tour of the world class facilities at The Portland Hospital by an experienced member of the team. Included in the tour will be a close look at the delivery suites, fully equipped nurseries and the hospital's hugely comfortable maternity wards. Also part of the tour is a chance to see examples of our state-of-the-art 3D and 4D ultrasound images, which is capable of taking moving and still images in astounding detail.
The Portland Hospital's Pregnancy Open Day is intended to be an interactive experience, so visitors will get the chance to meet with members of the hugely experienced maternity team and ask for advice and information. Consultants will be on hand to offer maternity care advice, and class tutors will be available to talk visitors through the range of antenatal and postnatal classes that are currently on offer at The Portland Hospital.
Expectant mums will get the chance to have a free 'Bump Photo' taken by Imagethirst photographers. And every mum-to-be will leave the Pregnancy Open Day with a special goodie bag - filled with free gifts from leading maternity and baby suppliers. There will also be useful maternity information, prices and advice contained within each bag.
Following previous highly successful Pregnancy Open Days, The Portland Hospital has announced that Paediatric Consultant Dr Olga Kapellou will be attending the final open day for this year. This hugely experienced paediatric specialist will be available to answer any questions visitors may have - on subjects such as immunisations, care for newborns and the checks that all babies must undergo.
Mum-to-be Natalie Harrington attended the previous Pregnancy Open Day in July 2015, and she spoke highly of the event:
"We are so pleased we attended the open day. We spoke with a midwife who was informative; she listened to our concerns about pregnancy and birth and alleviated them. Thank you. We look forward to having our baby with you."
With such a wide range of information and advice available, The Portland Hospital Pregnancy Open day presents the perfect opportunity for expectant mothers to get an insight into the inner workings of Britain's only fully private maternity hospital.
Admission to the Pregnancy Open Day is free to all expectant mothers and their partners.
