VIENNA, Va., Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Are you seeking an opportunity to recognize a military service member or Veteran this Veteran's Day? Are you a U.S. military member who would like to share a story (including all non-active duty members)? Would you like to demonstrate your support for our nation's heroes but don't know how? Show a veteran in your life you care, by creating a personal Tribute in their honor this Veteran's Day, or by Dec. 31, 2015. Make a difference by posting a free Tribute to illustrate your appreciation of the service and sacrifice of our nation's finest; U.S. military service stories, photos and video clips are welcome. At the same time, you'll be helping preserve military history and support Our Military Family.
The Patriots' Parade Initiative (PPI) is sweeping the nation by compiling a living historical online forum that captures U.S. military history through narrative descriptions. An integral aspect of the project includes a parade of names, stories and photos of patriots from all military eras, beginning in 1775 and dating back to the American Revolution. Coinciding with Veteran's Day on November 11, 2015, all users and visitors are welcome to share U.S. Military experiences as well as paths of recovery and/or sentiments of appreciation. All military members are invited to participate, as well as friends and family members.
This initiative has been created by the non-profit organization, the R4 Alliance, to heighten Veteran awareness within hometown USA and to educate the public on how U.S. military members and their families can better be reintegrated into our communities. The PPI project will transition to a fundraising mechanism beginning in 2016 to support 62-member recreational therapy nonprofit organizations, while also ensuring that no service member is ever forgotten. In the aftermath of Post-9-11 conflicts, there are more than 650,000 veterans or members of the military suffering from battle-related Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and Military Sexual Trauma resulting in a reported 22 suicides per day. This statistic mandates not only alternative forms of support for the U.S. military population, but also a national, private sector consciousness that will help guide it.
The R4 Alliance launched the Patriots' Parade Initiative to alleviate the often-overlooked therapeutic modality for military members to share their experiences in a narrative, communicative format, thus healing trauma and potentially preventing suicide that is often associated with battle fatigue, isolation and reduced self-esteem. In addition, PPI is a web-based virtual history book that serves to centralize communication, promote widespread awareness and empower users to engage in interactive conversation.
Posting a Tribute will not only honor our men and women who have proudly served our country --- each participant will also be supporting a local community non-profit organization who are eligible to receive a $1000.00 donation. All users are invited to share this unique program on all social media channels; the non-profit organization who generates the most Tributes between now and December 31, 2015, will receive the donation.
