The Renfrew Center Foundation Announces 20th Annual Conference
Keynote Speaker Gloria Steinem Addresses Eating Disorder Professionals
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Renfrew Center Foundation is hosting its 20th Annual Conference, Feminist Perspectives and Beyond: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future. Eating disorder professionals are invited to a thought-provoking weekend designed to further contribute to the evolution of the field of eating disorders. It will be held from November 12-14, 2010 at the Philadelphia Airport Marriot.
Gloria Steinem will deliver the Keynote Presentation, entitled Four Decades of Feminism: Reflections on Women and Eating Disorders. A pioneer and leader of the feminist movement for more than 40 years, Ms. Steinem offers fresh insight into a feminist understanding of socio-cultural and personality variables identified as key contributors to the development and treatment of eating disorders.
Since 1991, the conference has been dedicated to providing education and training for professionals. To commemorate two decades of rapid growth, outstanding scholarship and professional connection, Conference 2010 has invited experts in the field of eating disorders and women's mental health to explore treatment, cultural influences, genetics and trends in neuropsychiatry and neuropsychology.

- The Intricate Dance of Genes and Environment in Eating Disorders, Cynthia Bulik, PhD
