The Retail Gift Card Association Celebrates Five Years
Kick-off to anniversary celebration coincides with annual membership meeting at Money 20/20
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oct. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Retail Gift Card Association (RGCA), a trade association of diverse, closed loop gift card retailers committed to promoting the use of gift cards, today announced the kick-off to the association's five-year anniversary. To begin the year-long celebration, the RGCA will be holding special events during the annual membership meeting at Money 20/20 in Las Vegas.
Since the fall of 2008, the RGCA has been providing the closed loop gift card industry with a unified voice on legislative and regulatory issues, while providing its members educational and networking opportunities to continually enhance their programs. Today, the RGCA has established itself as a relevant and respected force in the prepaid industry. Highlights of the past five years include:
- Growing from 9 founding members to 70 member companies representing over 280 brands
- Promotion of responsible legislation on escheat and other critical issues
- Creation of a confidential forum for members to share best practices
- Education of media and consumers about the positive benefits and safety of retail gift cards
- Access to resources to help enhance member gift card programs
- Development of a member's code of conduct that promotes consumer-friendly policies

The membership meeting will begin at 12:00 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas. Events include:

- Highlights and accomplishments of the RGCA over the past 5 years
- Gift card customer service best practices case study presentation by Contact Solutions
- State of the gift card industry
- VIP appreciation event for members and supporters of the RGCA, sponsored by Ogloba
- Open discussion with renowned presenter Joshua Kauffman, the creator of the "Unconference," a new approach aiming to get the most out of conference gatherings
