The Ride-on Board Sport of the Future is Arriving at Toy Fair 2015
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hold onto your riding helmet, a revolutionary kick scooter called Sbyke® is poised to redefine the world of ride-on sports at the 2015 American International Toy Fair in New York. Sbyke thrills kids, tweens, teens and adults with the challenge they crave while solving the five most common headaches posed by other popular ride-ons.
After noticing "graveyards" of forgotten ride-on gadgets covered in cobwebs in the dark corners of one garage after another, it became obvious that people of all ages were craving something to keep them challenged and engaged. That's why engineers at Sbyke USA tossed out every preconceived notion behind existing ride-on sporting goods, and started with a clean slate to develop something worthy of futuristic sci-fi movies.
What they dreamed up is a hybrid that combines the best of bicycles, skateboards and scooters with a patented rear-steer™ system to create a totally unique riding experience. On the New Year's Day episode of the Today show, Willie Geist compared Sbyke to the Hover Board, a flying skateboard/scooter device featured in the 1989 movie Back to the Future II. The movie was set in the year 2015—what was then 26 years in the future. As he compared what the movie envisioned for 2015 to reality, Willie said, "Well, we don't have the Hover Board, but we have the next best thing. This is called a Sbyke."
The Sbyke family includes three models—P20, P16 and A20—to accommodate ages 5 to adult. Riders of all ages most often describe the sensation of riding a Sbyke as similar to surfing or snowboarding, but without ever leaving the sidewalk.
Sbyke satisfies those eager for a challenge. Riders must find their center of balance and then learn to steer by leaning their body weight in the direction they want to go. Once riders have the basics down, they can move on to mastering all kinds of tricks—carving, jumping, fakies, half-cabs, drop ins, and so on. Perhaps this is why GQ Germany referred to Sbyke as "completely addicting."
Aside from bringing gadgets once envisioned for the future to life with the newest in board sport excitement and challenge, Sbyke breaks the mold to overcome the five most common challenges posed by other ride-on board sports. Here's how:
- BMX front tire rolls easily over cracks and ruts unlike the small front wheels on other scooters and skateboards that can sometimes cause riders to flip or wipe-out
- Wide maple skateboard deck offers plenty of room for side-by-side foot placement so riders have better balance, control and comfort
- Self-standing design means no more fallen scooters at risk of being run over in the driveway
- The quick action of the hand-brake provides added safety and control
- The maneuverability provided by Sbyke's patented rear-steering enables riders to execute a 360-degree turn within the width of most sidewalks
Toy Fair 2015 attendees will get to experience the entire line-up of Sbyke rear-steering scooters first-hand. This year's event is expected to host 1,000 exhibitors from across the globe. It's taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center February 14th through 17th. Sbyke USA will be at booth #5109 which is located in the Outdoor Toys, Play Equipment, Ride-ons & Sports Goods zone.
