The Sports Vote Publishes Open Letter to the New York, California and Illinois State Governments
Challenging The Legality of FanDuel and DraftKings Asking the Question: "Do We Have Laws??"
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On May 21, 2016, The Sports Vote, a campaign undertaken by The New Sports Economy Institute (NSEI), mailed a personal letter to all the state legislators, governors and attorneys general in New York, California and Illinois expressing grave concerns over the secret and suspiciously swift maneuvering taking place outside public view in support of legalizing (currently ILLEGAL) daily fantasy sports gambling. Personal letters were also sent to the sports leagues, the media and selected interested parties. On May 22, 2016, the contents of the letter were made public.
NSEI managing director, Chris Rabalais, says "Do we have laws in this country? I'm really starting to wonder. You see I just got back from the May 11, 2016 hearings in Washington, D.C. covering daily fantasy sports betting. In case you haven't been following closely, this is the first time that the U.S. Government held open public hearings on the scandals surrounding this new way of stealing money from your constituents and robbing the public treasury. Funny thing is… DraftKings and FanDuel, who make up 90-95% of the market (depending on who you believe), didn't bother to show up. The members of Congress holding the hearing were not amused. I was there. I saw it. What kind of enterprise snubs the federal government when they have the perfect opportunity to speak to the world in a legitimate platform?..."
