ATLANTA, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Strategic Financial Alliance (SFA), a leading, privately owned independent broker-dealer and Registered Investment Advisor, today announced that three new members have joined its six-person Strategic Advisory Council (SAC), which assists the firm in developing and implementing key strategic initiatives and serves as a representative voice on behalf of SFA advisors. The firm also announced that Cheri Knight, Principal of Knight Asset Management in Ladera Ranch, CA, has been elected to serve as SAC Chair in 2016.
Financial advisors Brian Bennett of BennCo Advisors in Colorado Springs, CO; Andrew Crane of the Keen Insight Group in Norcross, GA; and Floyd Green of Cornerstone Wealth Management Team in Raleigh, NC will commence their terms beginning on January 1, 2016. They will join existing members Knight; Assaf Pinchas of Allegiance Financial Group in Vienna, VA; and Gene Dickison of MTM Financial Group, LLC in Bethlehem, PA on the Council.
Clive Slovin, CEO of SFA, said, "We are pleased to welcome these exemplary members of the SFA advisor community to the Strategic Advisory Council, and to announce that Cheri Knight will serve as Chair in 2016. Ms. Knight has been with SFA since our inception in 2003, and provides a sterling example of how to build a successful practice through hard work, talent, and dedication. Brian, Andrew, and Floyd will also be tremendous additions to the Council. We know they will bring the same energy, focus, and expertise that have served them so well in building their practices, and we look forward to their contributions."
The Strategic Advisory Council is a group of six successful advisors drawn from across the SFA network. Advisors typically serve three-year staggered terms, with one new member elected each year by the broader SFA advisor community and a second new member chosen annually by the existing members of the SAC. A new SAC Chair is also appointed annually to serve a one-year term with the approval of the other Council members. Chairs serve as Vice Chair during the year preceding their appointment. Mr. Pinchas will serve as Vice Chair for 2016.
Initiatives spearheaded in recent years by the SAC – or which the Council has helped advance – have included a new mentoring program for SFA advisors; implementation of e-signature solutions; and SFA's recently announced Administrative Education Program for affiliated advisors' administrative staff members. The SAC also provides critical feedback to SFA's management on key industry trends and on advisors' evolving needs.
Ms. Knight said, "SFA has been an outstanding partner in helping me develop my business and achieve so many of my professional goals. The SFA advisor network has also been a key element in my firm's success by acting as a valuable source of perspective on best practices and by providing a welcoming community of like-minded professionals. As SAC Chair, I look forward to giving back to the firm and community that have meant so much in my career, and to helping SFA and its advisors continue to grow through targeted strategic initiatives that address advisors' needs."
Outgoing Chair Don Snyder of Snyder Financial Group in Tampa, FL said, "I am very pleased that Cheri Knight will be serving in the role of Chair in 2016, and I am eager to follow the efforts of the new SAC Council members as well. Cheri and the other five members of the SAC will be wonderful representatives for the SFA advisor community in 2016, and are, I believe, the ideal professionals to help continue to move SFA and its advisors forward in the year ahead."
