The Townsend Group Announces the Passing of Co-Founding Partner, Kevin Lynch
CLEVELAND, Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Townsend Group announced today the passing of Partner, Kevin Lynch. Mr. Lynch was a CoFounder with CEO, Terry Ahern. Mr. Lynch passed suddenly over the weekend while at his home in Naples, Florida.
It is with the deepest regret that we must announce the sudden and devastating loss of our colleague and our dear friend Kevin. Kevin's energy and optimism were infectious, and his passing is a true loss to all fortunate enough to have had him in their lives. Please remember Kevin and his three children and loving family in your thoughts.
Kevin Lynch was a ubiquitous industry figure during his career. Mr. Lynch served as a fiduciary and an investor advocate for public and private company boards and was an oft-quoted industry figure. Prior to forming The Townsend Group, Mr. Lynch participated in structuring private placement real estate transactions for Stonehenge Capital Corporation, a New York-based investment banking firm.
Terry Ahern and Kevin Lynch founded The Townsend Group in 1983. Under the leadership of the two long-time partners, Townsend has grown to a thought-leading enterprise advising the largest investors globally with assets exceeding $179 billion. Today, Townsend is led by nineteen (19) partners across four (4) global offices. Kevin leaves us a persevering legacy of camaraderie and teamwork endemic to our culture. Townsend has been privileged to develop a deeply devoted team over the years, and though we will all miss Kevin, he leaves our clients, our partners, and our firm in a position of strength and endless resolve.
