The Volunteer Center of Lubbock's 18th Annual Cornucopia Luncheon Honors Volunteers
LUBBOCK, Texas, Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Deep in the heart of West Texas lives a culture of service that defines who we are as a community. We call it being "neighborly," but often it's much more than that. It's going the extra mile. It's sharing a glass of iced tea. It's recognizing the needs of others and doing something about it. At the Volunteer Center of Lubbock, we make it a priority each year to honor individuals, families, businesses and organizations in our community who not only go the extra mile but go an extra two miles. To do so, we are holding the 18th Annual Cornucopia Luncheon on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Lubbock Country Club.
At the luncheon, we will honor the following 2014 "Get Involved" Award recipients:
- Individual Commitment - Keri Powell
- Young Adult - David Abercia
- College Category - Elizabeth Roesler
- Youth - Catherine Latour
- Family - The Ragsdale Family
- Business - Lowe's Heroes
- Volunteer Coordinator - Michael Goen
- Education - Lubbock ISD Foundation for Excellence
- Arts - Tatum Lowe & Victoria Timmons
- Louise Cummins Outstanding Organization - South Plains Lions Club
- Ray J Diekemper Lifetime of Community Service award - Leslie Moss
Tickets for the Cornucopia Luncheon are $75 each, or $560 for tables of eight. Seating is limited. Information for sponsorships or tickets is available by calling the Volunteer Center at (806) 747-0551 or visiting our website at www.volunteerlubbock.org.
Many thanks go to our title sponsor for the event, UMC Health System.
Proceeds from this event will be invested in Volunteer Center impact – broadening our community's culture of service, building the next generation of leaders, and strengthening collaborative partnerships throughout the South Plains.
