COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SPHEER.io has announced their intention to crowdfund the world's first 3D, holographic VR OS in an attempt to lead the next evolution of computing interfaces. After five years of testing and development, the company has completed a working prototype of their operating system, which works with existing operating systems like Windows, Mac and Linux, with mobile OSs like Android and iOS and even with existing VR platforms like Oculus.
In SPHEER, users will interact with their data--files, events, browsing history, social statuses and programs--in a timeline format represented in on a 3-dimensional plane. The "northern hemisphere" will represent the past, while the horizon itself represents the present, and below the horizon, the future.
SPHEER will create a living network of users' data, creating connections between each interaction and aggregating links, memories and other relevant information. This data doesn't require adoption of new platforms- it works with existing services like Dropbox and Google Drive, Facebook, Twitter and popular email services.
But users will interact with this data in a way that's reminiscent of Minority Report and Tony Stark's J.A.R.V.I.S. program, using IBM Watson Artificial Intelligence.
Founder Steve Long, who has owned and sold several multimillion dollar companies in the past 15 years, has spent five years ideating and two years of intense development to make the initial prototype a reality. To bring SPHEER to the world, he's launching an Indiegogo campaign to target early adopters and tech enthusiasts like those that make up the SPHEER.io team.
In doing so, the team is also radically rethinking the concept of crowdfunding itself. SPHEER.io will offer backers a completely new level of involvement with the company, making it the world's first crowd-managed company. Backers will help guide the company through its maturation, and will be involved in making strategic decisions involving marketing strategies, market deployment, infrastructure and even monetization scheme. Developers will work with backers, gathering feedback and maintaining an ongoing conversation that will inform the development of games and applications related to the project. Over time, backers will have access to the company's returns, and the company will show each backer's value in regards to their contributions, level of implication and support they have provided so far using a proprietary algorithm powered by IBM's Watson supercomputer.
The mission is ambitious: SPHEER will change the way users interact with their operating systems, and will redesign the concept of crowdfunding along the way by introducing the first crowd-managed company.
