Former MTV EVP and CTO Joins Rapidly Growing Job Search and Recruitment Service
NEW YORK, Dec. 20, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- TheLadders.com, the world's leading marketplace for $100K+ job seekers and $100K+ jobs, today announced the appointment of Nicholas Rockwell as Chief Technology Officer. Rockwell will oversee and manage the technology development and operations for consumer and enterprise products and services. He will report directly to Marc Cenedella, Founder and CEO of TheLadders.com.
Rockwell joins TheLadders.com from MTV Networks, where as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Digital Media Technology, he led the technical product development for MTV Network's digital businesses in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and other locations. Over his 11 year tenure at MTV Networks, Rockwell's accomplishments range from building Urge, a subscription-based music service that was consolidated into Rhapsody in 2007, to implementing the on-air graphics system used on MTV Networks' broadcast channels.

Rockwell is an Internet technology and media veteran. After beginning his career working on an equity trading system at a small startup, Rockwell helped create SonicNet.com, a music content site specializing in the cybercasts of live performances. When SonicNet was acquired by MTV Networks in 1999, he assumed responsibility for the websites for MTV Networks' portfolio of leading media brands. Most recently as EVP and CTO, Digital Media Technology, Rockwell created MTV Network's first formal Product Management organization and integrated numerous acquisitions, including Comedy Central's online properties, Neopets.com, Shockwave.com, AddictingGames, and iFilm.com. Rockwell has held various positions at MTV Networks, including VP, Technology, Universal Music Platform (MTVi), CTO (MTVi), SVP, Programming and Interactive Services (MTV Networks), and SVP and CTO, International and Interactive Services (MTV Networks).
Rockwell received a BA in Literary Theory from Yale University.
