They were wrong. NJ offered some unique challenges and it took a few weeks to work out the kinks and modify Therap's claiming capability to meet those challenges, but that goal was accomplished and Therap users are processing claims."
Therap's billing applications automatically exports claims in the ANSI X12 837 formats for processing. Once adjudicated X12 835s with remittance advices can be uploaded from the state portal or delivered to the provider by Therap. Providers in NJ have been uploading the adjudicated claims to for faster turnaround. Once the adjudicated claims are imported reconciliation reports can be run and denied or rejected claims can be corrected and resubmitted. For the Fee-for-Service pilot in NJ, Therap's claim templates have facilitated batch processing of claims with multiple NPI (National Provider Indicator) numbers. A Prior Authorization copy feature was customized to facilitate processing of NJ's weekly prior authorizations, Also a new custom report that captures service overlaps was developed.
Therap's billing features integrate with the service outcome/goal tracking documentation features to provide excellent audit trails. Billing data can be generated using case notes, attendance data, manual entry, or service outcome/goal tracking documentation.
