Three-Day September Lecture Series Brings Renowned Dental Implant Expert to Offer Continuing Education Credits

Meet the Lecturer
Dr. Sharawy is Professor Emeritus of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the College of Dental Medicine and professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Medical College of Georgia and the College of Graduate Studies at the Georgia Health Sciences Center. He is the author of numerous textbooks, including "Misch's Contemporary Implant Dentistry" and "Orban's Textbook in Oral History."
He is a consultant to the oral and maxillofacial surgery programs for the U.S. Army. He has received numerous awards, including the Recipient of the Isaiah Lew Memorial Research Award by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Research Foundation and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Presidential Citation for significant contributions to implant research and education for more than 30 years of service.
Meet the Assistant Instructors
Assistant instructors for the course are Khaled Hussein, DDS, PhD, and Dr. Kingsley Chin, MD. A three-day course Atlanta-based agenda is available on Dr. Kauffman's website. Presentations on Friday, September 19, include:
- "Intraoral Bone Harvesting and Sinus Lift Procedures."
- "Muscles of Facial Expression, Facial Artery, Facial Vein and Marginal Branch of VII." (This occurs at Dr. Kauffman's lab)
The final day of the 3-day lecture seminar includes a:
- Presentation on "Evidence Based Management of Atrophied Jaw Bones"
- Demonstration on "Endoscopic Approach and Common Operative ENT Surgical Procedures."
The final day covers infection control and emergency troubleshooting for dental implant procedures.
