Three Distinguished Dallas Attorneys Recognized on D Magazine's 2017 List of Best Lawyers

DALLAS, April 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Three attorneys at the Dallas-based law firm Frenkel & Frenkel LLP have been awarded top honors from North Texas' most prominent magazine.

Mark D. Frenkel, Scott Bennet Frenkel and Gene Burkett were honored among D Magazine's Best Lawyers in Dallas for 2017. The personal injury lawyers were peer-nominated for their unparalleled counsel in one of 34 categories ranging from class action and insurance law to tort product and medical liability litigation.

D Magazine began the nomination process in late 2016 by asking lawyers with a valid Texas Bar number to submit the names of three lawyers — two from outside of their firm and one from within — who they have personally witnessed doing outstanding work for a client. The monthly publication then convened a panel of attorneys who reviewed the suggestions before compiling the final list of honorees.

Mark Frenkel has adorned the D Magazine list in 2009 and 2011 to 2016. He's also been awarded the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association John Howie Award. He received his juris doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1992 and has worked in Dallas since 1992 after stints in St. Louis.

Scott Frenkel has made the publication's list of top lawyers since 2007 while also being recognized by D Magazine as a Best Lawyer Under 40 in 2002. He also received his juris doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1990. Frenkel has worked in Dallas since 1989.

Gene Burkett claims his third consecutive D Magazine honor. He earned his juris doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio in 1994 and is a Dallas native.

Frenkel & Frenkel was started in 1994 by the two brothers along with Burkett. In the beginning, the law firm represented an Austin, Texas insurance company and Joplin, Missouri trucking company. After six months, the partners decided to dedicate their careers to serving plaintiffs.
