Times Square Experiences Three Days in 3D

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The world is abuzz about the incredible ability for entertainment technology to serve up how humans see and hear life in full three dimensions. Now, the producer of the world-renowned 3DX Festival in Singapore and 3D Screenings Asia in Hong Kong, in collaboration with The Hollywood Reporter, is readying to let people experience it all at a new Times Square mega-event.

3D is today's hottest technology, coming at a time when consumers aren't sure what could be the next level. The first annual "The 3D Experience" showcases 3D digital cinema, gaming, and TV into one hands-on mega-event where consumers and industry insiders will see, hear and feel it all for themselves. The 3D Experience launches September 24, 25 and 26, 2010, throughout Times Square.

The event, free to the public, includes screenings of 3D Hollywood blockbusters, including one of the largest, outdoor 3D screenings ever. The 3-day bonanza features a huge "3D showroom" lit-up with 3D technology and products for the home including video games, Blu-ray players, 3D HD TVs, all in a modern living-room like setting.

The producer behind the dark glasses is Nino Balistreri. "Following on the record-smashing box office sales of 3D Hollywood blockbusters like Avatar and Up, filmmakers, theatres, consumer electronic manufacturers and video gaming companies are poised to re-define the entertainment market," explains Balistreri. "The beauty of The 3D Experience in Times Square is that no other event in the world brings together major Hollywood studios, theatres, game publishers, consumer electronics manufacturers and consumers. Balistreri expects attendance in excess of 75,000, including virtually every major industry player, avid consumers, and the attention of nearly 2 million in daily visitors to Times Square.
