CHICAGO, May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Conservative commentator and international political strategist Rachel Marsden becomes the newest voice in Tribune Media Services' (TMS) American Voices weekly package covering politics, culture, economics and foreign affairs.
Marsden's columns combine her uniquely entertaining voice with a high-level grasp of complex issues. U.S. audiences know Marsden as a former Fox News co-host and contributor, as well as for her articles in the Wall Street Journal, Human Events magazine and the Hudson Institute's publications. Marsden also has served as director of a key think tank during the lead-up to the Iraq war and has run political and private-sector campaigns in North America and abroad.
"My goal with the column is to inject fresh ideas and perspectives into American political discourse and to explain to readers why they should care," said Marsden.
Each week the American Voices package features three to four writers. Marsden joins economist and former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich, Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign affairs writer Joel Brinkley and The Atlantic senior editor Ta-Nehisi Coates.
"American Voices is a mix of high-profile commentators covering American society and its relationship to the world," said Mary Elson, managing editor of TMS. "And Marsden is the perfect addition to the collection with her insights on international affairs and how they inform political developments in the United States."
