LOS ANGELES, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Jimmy Cliff's new EP You Can Get It If You Really Want (Island/UMe) is available today exclusively on the iTunes Store. The download-only EP features previously unreleased mixes such as Jimmy Cliff's version of the Cat Stevens classic "Wild World" and "Sitting In Limbo," and a film tribute to the director of The Harder They Come, the movie starring Jimmy Cliff that introduced reggae to the world. Jimmy Cliff, who has been an inspiration and influence for an eclectic mix of artists over the years from Bruce Springsteen to Joe Cocker, Paul Simon to The Clash, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15, 2010.

On Friday, March 19, the American Cinematheque, at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, will pay tribute to the late Jamaican filmmaker Perry Henzell with a screening of a new 35mm print of The Harder They Come and the West Coast premiere of Henzell's long-lost film No Place Like Home. The gala evening, at the 600-seat theater, will include a courtyard reception featuring a DJ spinning music from Jimmy Cliff, The Harder They Come, and Toots and the Maytals. A panel featuring stars of the films and celebrity filmmakers will provide Q & A between screenings. The event is open to the public.

Currently available from Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is the two-CD set The Harder They Come - Deluxe Edition (Island/Hip-O/UMe) which marked the soundtrack album's 30th anniversary in 2003. The soundtrack to Jamaica's first full-length feature film, the album became the biggest-selling reggae disc of the period, responsible for paving the way for reggae's global breakthrough.

Cliff's popularity rose with the anthemic title song and "You Can Get It If You Really Want," "Many Rivers To Cross" and "Sitting In Limbo." The original album also includes "Pressure Drop," the ultimate rude boy theme by The Maytals, Desmond Dekker's "007 (Shanty Town)," and much more. The Deluxe Edition adds a bonus disc of vintage tracks from 1968 to 1972 featuring artists such as Cliff (Top 40 U.S./Top 10 U.K. "Wonderful World, Beautiful People" and "The Bigger They Come The Harder They Fall"), The Maytals, Johnny Nash (#1 "I Can See Clearly Now") and Desmond Dekker (reggae's first U.S. Top 10, 1969's "The Israelites").

Another collection available from Cliff is the two-CD Anthology (Hip-O/UMe), the largest collection of his best recordings from 1962-1993. An essential compendium of some of reggae's classic songs, Anthology runs the gamut from hits to fan favorites and rarities. The compilation includes his highest charter--a track from yet another film--his U.S. Top 20 cover of "I Can See Clearly Now," featured in Cool Runnings, about the Jamaican Olympic bobsled team.
