EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., June 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 19, 2016, Mr. Talbott detected suspicious activity on a work computer. He immediately took the computer off-line and contacted his IT consultant. The consultant confirmed unusual activity and changed potentially impacted passwords. Further, after a thorough analysis, the consultant removed malware found on the impacted computer's hard drive, and confirmed all firewalls and security protections were properly functioning.
Mr. Talbott is providing notice of this incident because his clients' information may have been exposed:
- If you are an individual Talbott client, this information may have included your: name, gender, date of birth, telephone number, address, social security number, all employment (W-2) information, and direct deposit bank account information including account number(s) and routing information (if provided to us).
- If you are an entity Talbott client, this information may have included: the company name, Federal Employer Identification Number, address, telephone number along with partner, shareholder/officer or beneficiary names, addresses and social security numbers or Federal Employer Identification Numbers.
In addition to the above steps, the FBI, Internet Crime Complaint Center, U.S. Secret Service, El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, applicable Attorney General offices, and consumer reporting agencies have been notified. Further, Mr. Talbott has made internal system management changes, and will assist law enforcement in their investigations.
Given the potential information involved, Mr. Talbott strongly recommends his clients notify their bank and change their bank account number if this information was provided to him, and are vigilant in reviewing account statements.
