Top Triathlete Laura Bennett Qualifies for Olympics
London-bound Bennett to pursue Olympic medal with help from Bioenergy Ribose®
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., May 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- World-class triathlete Laura Bennett claimed the final U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team spot with her third-place finish in the recently concluded ITU World Triathlon in San Diego, California. Bennett, who finished fourth at the Beijing Games in 2008, qualified for her second straight Olympic stint joining fellow Americans Gwen Jorgensen and Sarah Groff who qualified early this year.
Clocking two hours and 11 seconds, Bennett closely followed Australia's Erin Densham (1:59:26) and Great Britain's Helen Jenkins (1:58:21) in the 1500-meter swim, 40-kilometer bike and 10-kilometer run race. As the top placing American, Bennett locked her spot in the much-coveted 2012 U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team. "I know I trained hard to be in the top nine, but placing third is definitely a validation for it," says Bennett who, at 37 years old, is performing as competitively as her younger counterparts.
Apart from a strict training regimen, Bennett uses a unique five carbon sugar that facilitates natural energy production in the body called Bioenergy Ribose® to help improve endurance and recovery – both important elements to compete in a grueling sport like triathlon. She, along with her husband-coach and fellow top triathlete Greg Bennett, are part of Team Bioenergy Ribose. "Over the years, Greg and I have experimented with all kinds of diets and supplements so we know what works and what doesn't. Bioenergy Ribose works. We don't just use Ribose, we live it!" Other Olympians in the elite team include decathlete Bryan Clay, and rower Susan Francia.
Bennett, who hails from Boulder, Colorado, is set to compete in the 2012 Madrid World Triathlon in Spain before heading to London for the Olympics in July where she will attempt to improve her fourth place finish in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
What is Bioenergy Ribose®?
Bioenergy Ribose® is the only patented brand of Ribose – a unique five carbon sugar that facilitates the natural process of energy production. Bioenergy Ribose® stimulates the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the essential energy compound found in every cell in the body, improving energy levels, fighting fatigue and boosting cardiovascular functioning. While the body naturally produces ribose, physical stress can deplete the body's natural stores, and the body's process for replenishing ribose is very slow in muscle and cardiac tissue. Using a supplement that contains Bioenergy Ribose® may help prevent the aches and soreness associated with depleted energy stores, allowing athletes and active individuals to train harder and longer.
Bioenergy Ribose® is GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) and is affirmed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by the issuance of a "no questions letter".
