Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach Announces Upcoming Silent Auction Benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles
Hotel in Torrance partners with OMG Global LLC to display artwork by local artist Bridget Hardenbrook
TORRANCE, Calif., May 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach hopes to share the art of giving by hosting an upcoming silent auction.
Donated by local artist Bridget Hardenbrook, "Koi Commotion" will be on display from May 30, 2015, through 2 p.m. June 7, 2015. The piece is a 15.5 inch by 20 inch signed limited-edition Giclee print that has been custom framed and wired for easy hanging. Guests wishing to get to know Hardenbrook are invited to attend a meet-and-greet session from noon to 3 p.m. June 7, 2015, at the hotel in Torrance, CA.
In addition to the silent auction, the hotel near Redondo Beach will be featuring the local artist's other works for sale in the Ballroom Foyer and Ballroom through June 30, 2015. In partnership with OMG Global LLC, Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach will be displaying art with a cause, donating 20 percent of all of the proceeds from the exhibit to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
"We feel this is a great opportunity to bring our guests, as well as the community, in for great art and a great cause," said Kandee Anderson, general manager of Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach. "Bridget is a phenomenal artist, and we're thrilled to be able to promote local talent while benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles."
Hardenbrook, who was born in Taiwan but moved to California as a teenager, portrays the beauty she sees in the world through the use of oil, acrylic and watercolor paints. Cheerful themes tend to dominate the artist's pieces, and she acknowledges that sharing her works with others, as well as a special cause, brings her an abundance of joy.
"My favorite medium is oil for its buttery consistency and luster. I also use acrylic and watercolor," said Hardenbrook. "I envision an outcome but never plan too far ahead, attempting to manipulate the images away from reality but not to the point of abstraction."
Following a fun evening viewing Hardenbrook's work, guests can end the night with a cocktail at Rain Wine Bar and Lounge, the Torrance, CA hotel's chic gathering spot serving a variety of specialty wines and meals perfected with farm-fresh ingredients. In addition to mouthwatering treats, the restaurant offers elegant indoor and outdoor seating spaces, giving visitors plenty of spots to relax, unwind and indulge in style.
