Town Hall Meeting on Dangers of Sequestration

Combat Veteran and Best-Selling Author Ilario Pantano Leads Town Hall on Impact of Sequestration for North Carolina

WILMINGTON, N.C., Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With steep defense reductions scheduled to take effect beginning Friday, March 1, under the process of sequestration, North Carolinians are anxiously wondering: How will the looming federal budget cuts affect U.S. national security?

On Thursday, February 28, Concerned Veterans for America will host a special town hall meeting in Wilmington to discuss the impact of sequestration on North Carolina and on the U.S. military. The meeting will be led our special guest Ilario Pantano , a U.S. Marine combat veteran and best-selling author.

"If America is to maintain her place as a global force, Washington must pursue victory through real spending reform, not lip service," Pantano said. "Our military must be at the ready for current and future threats; and the taxpayers deserve a budget solution that affords them that security while trimming the fat in Washington."

Pantano also emphasized the importance of reducing the national debt: "While overlooking more than $16 trillion dollars of debt comes easy in Washington, the burden it places upon the taxpayer is not taken lightly," he said.
